Happy Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel

Flos Carmeli,
vitis florigera,
splendor cæli,
Virgo puerpera,
singularis.

Mater mitis,
sed viri nescia,
Carmelitis
da privilegia,
stella maris.

A year ago today I was serving Pontifical Mass for the feast of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Mount Carmel, a feast dear to me because of the wonderful life and witness of her spiritual daughters, the Discalced Carmelite Nuns of her Carmel here in Launceston.

Here is Bishop Jarrett's homily for the occasion.
