To Venerate

My subscription to Dictionary word of the day tells me that:
Venerate comes from Latin veneratus, past participle of venerari, "to revere, to respect, to worship," from venus, vener-, "charm, loveliness."
How interesting that the concept of beauty lies behind the concept of veneration! Let liturgists take note... I am sure Pope Benedict well knows this point.
