The Shoes of the Fisherman

I read the Papal novels of Morris West when I was a teenager, and it was pleasant to revisit them tonight by watching the old film of The Shoes of the Fishermen with some friends.

It must be said, the film is more than worth viewing for the sake of the very faithful depiction of the ecclesiastical customs, costumes, and ceremonies alone - culminating in a Papal coronation!

This morning, having come late to Mass, but in time enough, I was then able to help Fr Rowe by serving at a baptism.

A pleasant feast of the Maternity of Our Blessed Lady to all - the first anniversary of my taking up the Roman Breviary.
